His pledge

He stood amongst the trees. His yellow wolf eyes staring at the castle, a window in particular. He watched as Leoun paced back and forth with one of the babies in her arms. He yearend for her, wanting badly to be at her side.
He howled sorrowfully at the moon. Cursing his fate. But why had he to suffer? Could he not be with his beloved? Yes. His wolf answered for him. He missed her soft skin, her beautiful smile. He missed all the love only she showed him. Her affections was something he craved now. She's mine.
And just like that his mind was made up. He shifted back to human and made his way to the place that housed his precious Leoun. He did not use the front door though, knowing that her family would never condone his visit. No, instead, with great agility and balance, he climbed up wards from the side. He reached her balcony landing swiftly on his feet. He made little sound but just as he was to enter he hesitated. Would she accept him? He was being selfish. . . of course she wouldn't wait for him. . . but he could not bring himself to move. He stood there like a shadow, holding his breath, waiting for Leoun to notice him.

  1. She rocked in place as she comforted the babe, trying to get him his afternoon nap. He squirmed in her grasp, having spotted Demetri and reached for him eagerly. Confused, she turned to see what the babe had discovered and she gasped, meeting Demetri's gaze. She stood frozen, unbelieving, and quite unsure what to do. Perhaps it was a dream?
The baby laughed delightfully, trying to reach his father and Leoun suddenly awoke from her trance. Quickly, gracefully, she ran to unlock the window allowing him entrance. He jumped through, Leoun's eyes taking in the flex of his muscles and the flow of his hair and knew deep down it was real. He came back.
"Demetri-" She found herself unable to finish her ecstatic exclamation as he claimed her lips in his. She melted in his grasp and relished in his taste, devouring him hungrily. Oh, how she missed him so!

  2. He held her in his arms, losing himself in the taste of her sweet lips. The baby squirmed laughing in delight. He stepped back looking at his son. He caressed its cheek as the baby reached up.
We've missed you Demetri." His gaze met hers. Her eyes reflected the many tears she was trying to hold back.
"I have missed you too Leoun, my cars." He drew her back in, placing yet another kiss. This is what he wanted, this is what it should be like. To have her with him. To have them be a family, a true family.
"I love you Leoun," He said against her lips. "I should have told you long ago. I should have told you before I left. I love you."

  3. "How touching," growled a foreign voice. The embracing couple broke away and a low rumble erupted from Demetri at the sight of a vampire from what he could smell. Leoun grasped his arm, not in fear, but as a warning. He glanced down at her as a sour look crossed her face staring at the vampire.
"Zane," Leoun acknowledged, a hidden venom saturating her voice. Zane's nose turned up arrogantly.
"Wolf-" Demetri's growled grew louder. "- I would appreciate it if you stepped away from my fiancé."
Beneath Leoun's grasp she could feel Demetri's muscles tense as he froze in disbelief. Zane chuckled in delight, Leoun shot him a glare.
"Of course, you were so deep in your reunion she did not have the time to relay to you..." He bowed, slightly so as not to humor Demetri. "I am Zane Thorneblud. Leoun's parents have arranged for our union as man and wife."

  4. His blood froze. Fiancè? . . . No. . . she's mine! His wolf growled within, wanting with great blood lust, to tear the vampire apart. He glanced at Leoun a disbelieving look but she was fully focused on Zane.
He drew in a painful breath, "I see." It was all he could say. The thought of his newly found family being taken away from him burned with a great intensity. Zane laughed as he saw Demetir's pained expression.
"You did not honestly think she, of such high noble class, would marry an exiled wolf. Hardly even a prince" Demetri's shot a shocked expression at the vampire. How did he know?
"That's enough Zane." Leoun'd voice broke through. Demetri closed his eyes at the pain. An anger building within him. What would she do should he kill the vampire now?

  5. "Ah, Leoun my love-" Zane began.
"Don't call me that!" she hissed, her grasp on Demetri's arm strengthening. Spite painted Zane's face as he witnessed this. Then, frighteningly, a crude wicked smile erupted on his face.
"You cling to your wolf so... Afraid he might leave again?" Zane jeered.
Leoun froze, her heart rate accelerated as her grip loosened slightly. How dare he strike her where it pained her so! Always taunting her, reopening the scars she tried to hide... Her pause did not encourage Demetri.
She sneered. "Go fuck yourself, Zane," she spat.

  6. His steady gaze never left Zane.
"I will not leave her anymore. For as long as I live I will be by her side. If you so much as hurt my Leoun like that again, i cannot promise you will be here for much longer." Demetri's demeanor was menacing, daring Zane to challenge him. He felt Leoun's grasp lighten even more. He turned to look at her, she was staring at him. Her beautiful eyes glistening with hope once more.
"Oh really now?" Zane's new found hatred for Demetri emanated from his words.
    Unfazed Demetri's answered, "Yes, really."

  7. "What reason would she have to believe you?" Leoun glanced at Zane from the corner of her eye, disproving. Zane rolled his eyes. "Other than your word... I've been with her since the day of your departure... helping her care for the children..." He seemed to shiver as he said that, even as he passed the crib with the other babe in it. It was evident he felt disgust towards the children. He continued nonchalantly. "What have you to offer her that I have not already given her?"
Demetri attempted to ignore Zane, which enraged him. "I'm warning you now, love." Leoun snarled as Zane said that. He smirked in satisfaction. "The day he leaves, by will or by force, I want you to remember your decision well... So who will it be?"

  8. Demetri growled deeply at the proximity of Zane and his son. Tisk risk, his wolf taunted, never get in the way of a wolf and his family.
He moved quickly, Leoun calling out in protest but Demetri was too far gone within his anger. He pined the vampire by his throat against the wall, his hand poised over his heart.
"I may have nothing to offer, I may not be worthy of her love, but as long as she desires me I will be by her side. You are NOTHING to question my loyalty to her. Nothing." He hissed at Zane. He ran a careful claw along Zane's cheek, drawing a small trickle of blood, "Oh, and i dare you to call her 'love' again. Lets see whats left after that." He dropped Zane who's eyes burned with anger.
"Demetri." Leoun cautioned. He looked at his beloved Leoun who could not hide the small smile of satisfaction that spread across her face. With one last glare he moved back to her side, sliding a possessive hand around her waist.
Zane glared at them,"This is whom you choose Leoun?! He is practically an animal."

  9. "Isn't he?" she sighed, caressing his face. She giggled as Zane once more rolled his eyes.
"Regardless, lo-... Leoun... You are bound by the laws of our people. In other words..." He apparated to Leoun's other side, mimicking Demetri earlier and grasping her close to him by the waist. "You are mine."
"Let me go!" Leoun ordered and, shifting the babe into one arm, threw a powerful punch in Zane's face. She smiled in spite of herself as she heard a loud crunching noise indicating she had broken his nose.

  10. He couldn't help the proud grin that spread across his face. Crossing the room he picked up the other child, went back to Zane, who was now clutching his nose, and punched him one more time.
"You ever, dare, touch my Leoun again and I will make sure i rip your arms off and send them to your mother. Have a nice day."He growled at Zane and took Leouns hand. They left the room, leaving behind the bloodied humiliated Zane.
"Demetri. . . where are we going?" She said, though she sounded more excited than worried.
"I am taking you for a while. . . just until things cool off. . . ah. . . It's where i live." A slow blush crept up on Demetri and he shook his head. He just hoped that she wouldn't be disappointed.

  11. "Oh? Sounds intriguing," she said. She followed in his footsteps, through pavement roads and grass covered fields. The babe within Demetri's arms stared inquisitively at his face and Demetri suddenly realized it was the one who bore Leoun's eyes.
"I hope you don't mind," piped up Leoun, noticing as he stared at his son tenderly. "I had already named them. I didn't think you'd mind to much what I chose."
Demetri chuckled. "Alright, then... What are their names?"
"The one you're holding is Zephyr. The other is Ryder."
He stopped momentarily to look back at her, an amused expression adorning his face. Without shame, she proudly announced, "They sounded badass." He laughed and continued walking, tightening his grip affectionately on Leoun's hand.

  12. He guided them deep into the forest, stopping to help Leoun down slopes, across small streams. He realized how far they were traveling and became a bit nervous.
Leoun sensed his sudden hesitation and squeezed his hand supportively. He smiled at her as they came to their destination. The think forest opened to a glistening pool of water. A small waterfall fed the small body of water, small streams formed all around. Lush green plants and bright colored flowers bloomed all around. He led them behind a stone next to the waterfall, revealing a large cave shining brightly with crystals of all sorts of colors. He saw Leoun stare at the stones in awe, coming close to one, she asked. "Is this. . . ruby?"
He smiled, "Yes." She turned an astonished gaze to him and he held his breath. Wanting so badly to ask if she liked it, but he could not find his voice. He merely held his son, Zephyr , in his hands and waited as she toured his "home". He had it furnished. There was a small kitchen he build, a bedroom of sorts, he had even figured how to make a bathroom. But it was modest. She deserves better, a small voice rang in his head. Then the vampires comment rose once more, What have you to offer her that I have not already given her?'. . . what did he have to offer?

  13. "It's breathtaking," she said, her heart leaping at the serenity she felt. "Beautiful," she added, gazing at the vibrant, luscious green landscape. She sat down upon the floor, completely mesmerized by the elegance of it all. "It's sad... I've only very rarely stepped outside the city walls... It's not as green as it is here. I love it."
Her gaze turned back to Demetri, who appeared relieved with her answer. She smiled and patted the ground next to her, urging him to sit. He obliged and the two of them stared at the wonderful scene before them. Ominously, Zane's words were distastefully brought forth in her mind: "The day he leaves, by will or by force, I want you to remember you decision well..." She swallowed; she didn't want him to go. This beauty, this serenity she felt being next to him... would it all disappear one day?

  14. "I won't leave you again Leoun." Guessing what she was thinking. "I love you, i realize that now. I won't leave you." He placed a tender hand on her lap and placed a loving kiss on her lips. . .. He instantly knew what he could offer her, what would convince her that he would never leave her. Placing the child in one arm, Demetri knelt in front of Leoun. Taking in a shaky breath he bit into his wrist drawing blood. Leoun cried out in protest but he stilled her, placing his bloodied hand in hers he said in his language, "I Demetri Wolfheart pledge mine undying loyalty to you Leoun Roseland. I am now yours." The wolf within howled as the first loyalty bond was made. Then he continued. His heart accelerated as he knew what this meant. He would forever be bonded to her.
"I also pledge my life to you. Mine wolf and I will forever be yours to command. We will die and live for you."

  15. She gasped and her hand flew to her mouth, having vaguely understood the gravity of his actions. She shivered as the bond was sealed.
    "Demetri," Leoun breathed.
"It's alright," said Demetri, cupping her face in his hand.
    "What just happened-?"
"You need not worry any longer... I will never leave you again."
Her heart became aflutter and teardrops of joy escaped her eyes. She blinked furiously as they poured from her eyes, she wiped them away hastily. Compose yourself, Leoun. Demetri laughed airily and kissed her once more, and it was as though it all came together in her mind as they locked lips. This beautiful, wonderful man... is mine, she thought. She wrapped her hand around his neck, giggling whenever they would pull away for a breath. It was the happiest she had ever been.
He pulled away for the last time, their eyes locked and exchanging looks of pure joy. He stroked her cheek; she leaned into his hand, closing her eyes at their touch. He smiled, turning his gaze to the evening sky.
"Nightfall approaches," he said. He turned back to Leoun, his eyes deep and penetrating. "I'll go and collect firewood."
She nodded and kissed his cheek sweetly. "I'll be waiting."

  16. He's heart filled with utter joy. He moved swiftly through the woods all the while thinking of his Leoun. He was now bound to her. If she told him to leave forever he would obey, if she were to ask him to fight a thousand wars, his wolf and he would relish as they did her bidding. A small part of him wriggled at the thought. He was always used to being the one in command. . .
He approached a small cliff, suddenly feeling a sense of danger Demetri spun around to face an raged Zane. The vampire struck fast. Demetri lost his foot hold and with a a startled gasp he fell down into the ravine below.

  17. "You, my flea-bitten friend, are an exiled royal pain in the ass." Zane laughed as Demetri snarled, climbing his way back up. "Oh, no you don't." With one swipe, he severed a nearby tree and it began to fall. Demetri easily dodged out of its way; unfortunately, he was unable to anticipate it snapping half as his crashed onto both sides of the ravine. He stumbled as it shook the ground and he cried out in pain as half of the tree pinned his leg. Zane looked disappointed. "Not what I was hoping for... but I suppose it's better than nothing. Now, if you don't mind... I'm going to reclaim what's rightfully mine." And as Demetri screamed in protest, Zane departed.

She placed the children on the bed, both having fallen asleep shortly after Demetri's departure. She sighed in jubilance as a wild thought came across her mind: that she would live here forever, with Demetri, and they would be a family. It always seemed to send her heart skyrocketing, the idea pleased her so. I'll make it come true, she thought, slightly surprised at her own enthusiasm.
She heard footsteps upon the wet cave floor. She turned to greet him. "Back already, Demetri...?" Her voice trailed off and fear and burning hatred consumed her entire being as she saw who her "visitor" was.
She hissed at him, he sneered. "How did you find this place?" Demetri! she thought. Hurry!
"Your scent is unbearably strong," replied Zane. He cackled dementedly as he disappeared. She flinched as she felt is hot breath upon her neck. "And intoxicating." Instantly, she whirled to attack him, only for him to disappear once more and reappear behind her. He grabbed hold of the hand she was ready to strike him with and twisted it. She yelped in pain, his nails digging into her skin. His forceful hands bound her as he leaned in to whisper, "Tsk, tsk... You're not behaving. Time to teach you some manners."

  18. Demetri Hurry! He heard her calling to him. His wolf already preparing itself for battle. He struggled against the tree growling as he tried his mightiest to escape.
His heart wrenched as he heard Leoun's mind scream. 'Demetri! Help! oh. . please stop... stop!' Realization hit him, the bastard is raping her. With a feral snarl Demetri shifted. He howled deep into the moon sending a threat to Zane. He will pay, oh , he will rejoice when his limp, shredded body was between his jaws! He turned his head and with one swipe bite to the tree he crunched his way free. He growled when he realized it was now broken but he pushed past the pain.
'Demetri!' Her gut wrenching mental summons spurred him forward. Running as fast as he could to her aid, hoping it would not be too late.

  19. He retracted from her opening in spite and disgust. The bitch had fought against his grip and he emerged with several scratches, mainly upon his face. He stood over the crying and defeated form of Leoun as she curled in on herself, her clothes completely shredded to reveal every scratch and bruise inflicted on her body. Unsatisfied slightly with the course of her punishment, he drew a forceful kick to her ribs. Her mangled screams echoed off the cave walls at the intense pain, combined with the terrified and startled screams of the awakened babes.
"That's for breaking my nose." To add insult to injury, he spat on her. "Bitch."

  20. Demetri ran faster, his anger growing as he felt the pain that Leoun was in. He burst into the cave his yellow wolf eyes fixated on the vampire standing over his precious Leoun. Without losing momentum the crashed into the vampire. In one swift bite he felt the bones of the vampire crush. It screamed in agony as he struck Demetri sending him crashing against a crystal. His impact shattering not only the stone but his ribs as well. He regained his ground dashing once more, his bite landing true as he tore into the vampire's flesh. He heard the distant cries of his sons, the soft sobs of his precious Leoun. Enraged he ripped the vampire apart limb from limb. Letting him regenerate to keep him alive so that his torture was never ending.
"Demetri. . ." Her soft voice brought his full attention. He trotted to her side, his muzzle wet from the vampire's blood. He nudged her, his eyes searching for . . . he didn't know. He whined softly as he licked her wounds.
"You mangy mutt!" The now deformed vampire shouted as he lay in a deep pool of his blood. Demetri growled deeply in his throat.
"Demetri. . . destroy him." Leoun's command coursed through Demetri as he lunged for the vampire, in one swift move he beheaded it. His powerful wolf jaws tearing once and for all into the carcass. Bones crunched and blood splattered the floors and walls. Finally all that was left of the vampire was his blood . . . and what appears to be his hand. Demetri huffed in satisfaction as he turned his full attention to Leoun once more. He shifted back to human and knelt beside her.
"Oh... God. .. Leoun. . . I am so sorry." He held her gingerly in his arms as he moved her to his bed. He quickly covered her injured body with his cover. He felt ever inch of her pain and his wolf cried in agony at the thought that he allowed this to happen.

  21. She tried not to cry, but the disgust she felt with herself was overwhelming. Damn her weakness, damn her pride!! The pain was unbearable and the memories foreboding; her emotions toiled within as a small part of her wished she had died. She buried her face in the pillow in shame, unable to face Demetri. Why...? Why did this have to happen?
She felt his sweet caress as he lightly comforted her, her wounds were not even pained at his touch; rather, they almost seemed to welcome it and every fiber of her being called out for him to hold her. Please, she thought... Just hold me. That will be enough.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Her command rang through Demetri as he moved to hold her against him. He ran a soft hand through her hair. He felt her disgust, her shame.
"It was not your fault cara, its not your fault. Do not feel shamed, you did well under those circumstances." His knowledge of her thoughts made her gasp as she turned to look at him, confusion clouding her eyes.
He repeated the bond he swore to her in english, "I Demetri Wolfheart pledge mine undying loyalty to you Leoun Roseland. I am now yours.. . I also pledge my life to you. Mine wolf and I will forever be yours to command. We will die and live for you.... your pain is mine, Leoun." Closing his eyes he allowed his wolf to lend its strength to Leoun. Unconsciously he drew upon it, her scratches and wounds healing. He hissed as he felt her wounds knit together, but they both breathed a sigh of relief when it was done.
He could still feel her sense of weakness, her utter disgust with herself.
"No, Leoun, please. It is not your fault. It's mine, i should have never left your side. I left you unguarded. Please, do not blame yourself."

  23. She nestled into his shoulder, still extremely skeptical of his words. Oh, if only she had taken her mother's training seriously... She pushed aside those thoughts. No matter how much she despised herself, she absolutely hated feeling horrible. Instead, she reflected upon Demetri's complete and total annihilation of the heathen of a vampire. She let escape a small, wicked giggle as Demetri held her more tightly.
"You did the best you could, too... Thank you, my love. Thank you... so much..." And her pride was thrown aside as she let loose the deluge of tears, both of pain from the experience and of joy of her beloved having saved her.

  24. She fell asleep in his arms. He sat there, wondering if he truly was strong enough to protect her. He had given her everything he could. But was he enough? He shook the thought out of his head. He gently placed her back upon his bed as he got up. He turned to look at his sleeping family. The babes had fallen asleep, and oh the sight tugged at his heart. Yes.
Finally his wolf sounded sure. Yes, I am enough. I can protect them. I will. He moved over to build the fire to keep them warm. His gaze turned over to the pool of blood that now adorned the floor of the cave. Wanting to have the place cleansed of the damned vampire he moved to begin washing the blood off. Once he was done and satisfied with it he moved to gather clothes for Leoun. It was little effort to breaking into her room and take the clothes. The hardest part was leaving Leoun unguarded. He rushed back, relieved to see that they were fine and still asleep. He carefully placed the clothes next to Leoun as he moved to make breakfast. It wasn't until all was done that he remembered his injures. They were healing, it just hurt like hell now.
With an exasperated sigh he laid on the couch. A sudden small realization striking him. . . this was now to be his everyday life. He smiled, its a life I would love to live.
